Sweetwater Oaks had its beginning in the late 1960’s with a dream and a promise. The dream was of neighborhoods without equal ... where architecture would complement the environment and nature. The promise was a commitment to quality in the planning, in the homes, in the amenities and the creation of a community with the atmosphere and caring of a small town.

Perhaps, more than anything else, Sweetwater Oaks is an idea, an attitude toward life and living. It is a place where successful people join successful people to celebrate a style of life and enjoy the rewards of their accomplishments.

The roots of Sweetwater go back to 1968 when the first 22 acres of what was to become Sweetwater was purchased. Orange groves covered much of the land, the rest was forest and meadows interspersed with small communities. Everything changed in the 1960’s when a killer freeze destroyed thousands of acres of citrus trees. It motivated developers to look for new opportunities and greater challenges. No one knew what this area of Central Florida was to become, but change was stirring.

Sweetwater Oaks was the dream, the vision, and reality of E Everette Huskey.  His experience, leadership and perseverance, to the community brought numerous awards and honors.  Our community continues to be one of the highly desired locations to live in central Florida.
